Overview

YOUmedia projects are extended development opportunities for teens who want to deepen their technical skills, creativity, and exploration of literary themes. These projects include large-scale efforts such as One Book One Chicago and Summer Readers, and smaller scale activities as well.

For eight to 10 weeks, teens from across the city of Chicago collaborate to discuss, develop, and create media artifacts for exhibition. In addition to the in-person collaboration and display, participating teens, mentors, and librarians engage in online conversations, share-outs, and critiques with the broader YOUmedia community.
