Every Wednesday afternoon, certified teens may sign up to use the music studio in YOUmedia. Five teens max for every hour.

PROGRAM TITLE: YOUmedia Films: Digital Video (Narrative Edition)

In Youmedia Film Pod students will learn to visually tell stories by creating relationships between image and sound. They will apply hands-on experience with digital video equipment and software to work as small film production teams creating Short Films, Music Videos, Commercials, Public Service Announcements and Book Trailers.

Studio Certification Sundays

Do you want to be able to run your own Studio Sessions? Learn the steps and tools it takes to become Youmedia Studio Certified. Certified Sundays are for those dedicated to practicing, sharing, and collaborating to become YOUmedia specialists. You will focus on garageband, pro-tools, djing, studio set up, podcasting and more.
Pre-registration is capped to 10 participants on a first come, first served basis.

THE SOUND EXPERIENCE (Digital Music)

Travel to the 8th floor of the Harold Washington Library Center and dig through a massive collection of records or bring your own. We will show you how to sample, mix, share and archive our findings. Bring your instrument…We’ll take music in all its forms from traditional, to digital in order to create Sound Experience projects to share with various communities. Learn garageband, pro-tools, djing, basic scoring and more.
Library Card needs to be up to date to check out records.
